As gas prices keeps going up, more and more people are looking for ways to increase their income or at least to attract wealth. Who doesn’t want to have extra cash to spare? Or shop till you drop? In Feng Shui, there are many applications that will help you attract wealth and prosperity. For this week, I feature the lucky I-Ching coins or metal coins that are common prosperity symbols in Feng Shui. Didn’t you notice that I keep on posting about “how to attract wealth and prosperity” in my Feng Shui posts. Simply because I also want to try them. To be honest, the reason I was hooked in Feng Shui was because of trying out these lucky I-Ching coins. I made my first purchase at a Feng Shui store that “promises” I will never run out of cash if I place a three I-Ching lucky coins wrapped in a dollar bill (with at least with number “8″ in the serial numbers) and place it inside a lucky Chinese red envelope - then I placed the red envelope with I-Ching lucky coins in my wallet. And it worked for me! I mean, when I am about to run out of cash in my wallet something will arrive or come up (aside from my regular salary).
So what does these I-Ching lucky coins in Feng Shui really mean?
Coins in China have been used since the 7th century BC. The antique coins from China had a square hole in the center which the energy of the earth (yin) could enter. The round shape corresponds to the energy of the heavens (yang). In Feng Shui, coins are thought to bring good luck and worn for protection. Several coins (three, five, or nine) are strung on two red (the color signifying joy) silk ribbons. The ribbons are fed through the square holes in the coins’ center and tied together to make a good luck ribbon, which is hung near the entrance to attract good luck and defend against harm and evil.
Special lucky coins had different symbols and signs on the surface: 1) a bat means “Good luck is right in front of your eyes”; 2) Nine coins on a string signify uninterrupted good luck.

So you want to try if this will work for you? Here are some applications you can try to attract wealth that may work for you:1) 8 coins strung on a red silk ribbon hung near or above the cash register; 2) A large coin in a glass bowl lines with red or blue velvet; 3) 3 coins in a red envelope placed under a healthy, strong plant as a symbolic gesture of letting money grow; 4) 4 coins in a square red envelope attached to each bed leg, out of view, for continuing goodluck.
There’s no harm in trying, may wealth and prosperity be with us!

I swear I love bags! Whenever I go to the mall or surf the net, I always look for bags. I am not really looking for a specific brand, just any bag that captures my fancy. I am currently sporting a pink shoulder bag at work. But lately, I fancy a red leather bag. I never had red bags because at first I thought red bags can’t go with certain outfits, but now, I see more and more women use red bags to match their outfits without looking drab. The red leather bag from Latico is a fab find not just for its style but its also affordable. In Feng Shui, red is considered a dominant color that brings strong energy to a person. Too much red is considered not good though. Hence, balance it with other colors like the bags I found at eBags! As they say, bags can make or break one’s outfit.

Are you having trouble getting a good night sleep? The position of your bed might be the culprit. If you’re having a hard time getting a good snooze because your bed might be directly facing the hallway to your room, in Feng Shui, you can try changing the position of your bed. If changing the position of your bed is not possible, place a divider or shield to block the direct energy coming from the hallway to your room. Happy sleeping!

I joined MyBloglog last month and so far, I found many communities that talks about topics that I’m interested with. Its a nice social network that aside from you can invite people to read your blog, you can actually meet new people, join their communities (that interests you), read and post comments. So far, I have not found a site that gives me the same satisfaction to get my blog known (for free!) Thanks MyBloglog. I am open though for more blogging networks/social networking that offer the same opportunity like MyBloglog. Any suggestions?

I am officially addicted to foot spa! I consider my feet very delicate and intimate so I never go to a salon for a pedicure. I do my own pedicure and manicure. But because a friend talks so much about how good having a foot spa feels, I decided to try it one day. And whoa! Its one of the best relaxing and feel-good pampering of oneself. After my foot spa, my feet is more delicate than ever and I felt like my whole being was refreshed. I now do believe that some toxins or stress in our body can be removed by way of relaxing and massaging our feet. To make sure I have a weekly foot spa without breaking the bank, I purchased my own home spa that consists of the following: a foot massage spa, pumice stone to soften calluses and rough skin, nail brush, foot soak, foot scrub (I love the ones with peppermint), foot spray and finish off with foot balm.
But I think foot spa will revolutionize itself. I heard so much about people going ga-ga over some foot spa that uses fish as live foot scrubber/sucker of dead skins? Sounds icky but many swore its so effective. So where does this school of fish came from? These fishes are originally from Northern and Central Middle East. The species are called Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomus. These fishes have so many nicknames, “Doctor Fish”, “nibble fish”, “sucker fish”, etc. The name “Doctor Fish” is popular because it says that these fishes can cure skin diseases like psoriasis. There have been a lot of fish spa in Asia and now starting in the US. I think I will try one soon for the experience of it. I swear I am very ticklish but having a fish spa will take me to the next level. You can watch these fishes in action here.

I stay 8 hours at work. To stay alert and active I make sure I eat well. My routine is heavy breakfast, no morning snack just coffee, medium to heavy lunch, afternoon snack, and a light dinner. I always buy lunch at work because I sometimes can’t cook for I’ll be late for work. So I end up eating what’s available in the Cafeteria or have lunch delivered. I know its not healthy (with all the seasonings they put in the food) and I use too much food containers that adds to the garbage, not to mention I spend money in purchasing heavily packed foods. I stopped using a lot of plastics bags when I go shopping. Instead I use my reusable eco-friendly tote. Hence, to be healthy, save money and to save the earth, I thought of why not I bring a lunch box at work where I can make my own healthy lunch and snacks. So when I found this eco-friendly lunch box in color green, I love it! There’s also color pink and blue.
Details:
- lead-free insulated lunchbox
- 4 reusable tinted containers
- 1 reusable tinted bottle
- Safe polycarbonate plastic
But if you want something more pricey, there’s Laptop Lunch System. Its like a Japanese Bento lunch box but made of eco-friendly materials. As what the book, “The Laptop Guide User’s Guide System: Fresh Ideas for Making Wholesome Earth-friendly Lunches Your Kids will Love,” by Amy Hemmert said, we need to reduce lunchtime wastes and start eating healthy. Kids as well as adults will love their recipes for a healthier lunch. Happy going green!

I love watching Olympic games on TV when its on. I look forward to the opening of the Beijing Olympics 2008 in Beijing, China on August 8, 2008. But compared to the previous Olympic games, I am more interested in the Beijing Olympics 2008 because the Chinese consulted Feng Shui in choosing its opening date. The opening date of the Beijing Olympics is on 8/08/2008 and the opening ceremony will begin at 8:08:08 p.m. CST (12:08:08 UTC). So many number “8″ which is the luck number in Asia and Europe. Many people not just in China are willing to pay extra just to have the number “8″ in their telephone numbers, addresses, car plates, and so on. I particularly like the number “8″ because its an infinity number. Many people I know scheduled on this date the most important event of their life, like weddings, opening a new business, moving to a new house, etc. They said they chose this date because 8/8/2008 happens every 100 years and they believe it to be a lucky day.
But from what I heard from some Feng Shui experts, 8/08/2008 may not be so lucky. They said that It is an unlucky day to get married, open a business, sign a major contract, start a construction or move into a new house. Their reason is August 8, 2008 is the second day of the Ghost Festival which falls on the 8th day of the lunar month, which is what the Chinese call the Ghost Month. They believe that during this month the spirits of the dead wander the earth. There’s superstition that the Ghost Month is an unauspicious month.
Hearing all these, for me, I agree with the others that 8/08/2008 is still a lucky day but with a “big discount.” If someone wants to make special efforts to try its potency, good luck! But add perseverance and determination because luck alone will not help you to reach your goals. Oh by the way, in commemoration of the Beijing Olympic Games, China made a whopping 10 kilos Beijing Olympic Games Gold Coin worth $1,000,000.00! I found that in GovMint (see above) I can stare at that 10 kilos gold coin all day. Ain’t she pretty?
